Here are six reasons to practice space clearing.
1. For Spiritual Development
If you have read any of my other articles about setting up sacred space you will probably remember that the first thing I recommend is cleaning and clearing the space you intend to use as sacred space. Space clearing removes the energy of the past and makes room for clean, bright, high functioning energy to take its place. You can only develop spiritually by looking to the future, not the past. Old stuck energy is the past.
2. For Sanctuary
If you have a room in your home that you would like to transform into a sanctuary for some special purpose like a meditation room or even a special reading space for you and your children, space clearing is essential. Clearing the space allows room for you to then set the intention for the purpose of this space.
3. To Change The Atmosphere
Arguments, accidents, anything that has dangerous, explosive or negative energy can leave a room or the entire house filled with low level energies. You might even need to clear out the atmosphere after a party and all that energetic residue left by the revelers. To clear out the energy from a party gone wild, or even to clear out the energy after a family holiday.
4. To Feel Welcome in Your Home
If you don’t feel a sense of welcome when you return to your home, then clear the energy. Often people move into a different house and even if it is brand new, it won’t feel as though the house welcomes them home. They just never quite feel at home. Clearing the space will help. This is especially important if you are moving into a home or office that your partner once shared with someone else.
5. Traveling
An average hotel room is probably filled 20 nights a month. Each person who enters that room whether to stay or service the room leaves behind a trail of energy. You never know if someone has had an argument in that room (unless you are a sensitive) or been angry at the boss over refilling the mini fridge. Clearing out those energies will make the hotel seem more like home and help you sleep more soundly.
6. For Prosperity
Have you noticed that some stores not only rotate their stock quickly, but move it about in the store? That’s not just so you have to wander around (although that is part of the reason). It clear out the space and puts fresh attractive energy into the display so that they sell more. Clearing your home and office will promote prosperity for you too.
