Natural Pain Relief: Salicylic Acid

Salicylic acid is a powder extracted from willow bark that can ease aches and pains and reduce fevers. The medicinal part of the plant is the inner bark which can be boiled to make an infusion. Native Americans used this as a natural pain reliever.

Although Salicylic acid can be extracted from the bark of the willow tree, it is also found in many plants. Fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices are a natural source of salicylic acid, many containing very high amounts.
