Here is a list of healthy snacks ideas that will satisfy the appetite until dinner time.

1. Ants on a Log:

Celery with peanut butter and raisins.  (Put some peanut butter on the inside of the celery then press in some raisins.)

2. A Vegetable Tray:

On a plate add a few pieces of celery, matchstick carrots or baby carrots, a boiled egg cut in half and a little dip for the veggies. ( hummus or ranch dressing)

3. A Fruit Salad:

Chop up an apple into  several pieces, orange slices with a fruit yogurt as a dip.

4. Trail Mix:

A handful of trail mix with some sliced fruit.

5. Yogurt and Fruit Parfait:

layer 1/2 cup yogurt with granola and berries (your choice of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries or a mix), sprinkle with more granola) Makes a great breakfast as well.

6.  Meat & Cheese Kebabs:

On a kebab stick layer some cheese cubes, turkey or ham chunks with few cherry tomatoes.

7. Bean and Cheese Burrito:

Make up a few small bean and cheese burritos. Warm a flour tortilla and then spread a layer of refried beans and shredded cheese, roll up and serve with a little sour cream for a dip.

8. Whole Grain Cereal with Milk:

Try to avoid any sugary cereals.

9. Cucumber Sandwich:

Butter two slices of bread and add sliced cucumbers, a little mayonnaise or ranch dressing. Cut off crust and cut into 4 pieces.

10. Fruit Smoothie:

A cup vanilla yogurt, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1 frozen banana, 1/4 cup orange juice in a blender until smooth.healthy snacks, snack ideas, appetite, kid snacks, snacks for children.

11. Peanut Butter and Banana Waffles:

Spread peanut butter on toasted mini whole-wheat waffles. Top with sliced banana and a drizzle of honey.

12.  Strawberry & Cream Cheese Bagel:

A whole wheat bagel with cream cheese, top with sliced strawberries.

13.  Bran Muffin & Chocolate Milk:

A cup of chocolate milk with a bran muffin. If you make the bran muffin yourself you can add a handful of raisins.

14. Parmesan Kale Chips:

Preheat oven to 350F,  cut kale into bit size pieces and put onto a cookie sheet, drizzle lightly with oil (olive oil) then a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Bake for 10 minutes or crispy.

15. Nachos:

Take a handful of tortilla chips and place on a cookie sheet, add a layer of salsa sauce then top with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake at 375 F for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

16. Mini Bagel Pizza:

Open a whole wheat bagel, top each half with some pepperoni or other meat, chicken or bacon, and top with shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake at 375 F for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.

17. Sweet Fries:

Slice a sweet potato into wedges of french fry cuts, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a little salt. Bake at 425 F for 20 minutes. Serve fries with a ketchup dip.

18. Macaroni and Cheese:

Serve a small bowl of macaroni and cheese. A light drizzle of ketchup on top.

19.  Granola Apple Sandwich:

Cut apples into 1/4 inch slices then spread on some peanut butter, next sprinkle with granola, top with another slice of apple.

20. Jerky & Trail Mix:

A few pieces of jerky  and 1/2 cup of trail mix.
