Homemade Face Masks for Dry Skin

It is possible to make spa quality, effective face masks from ingredients you probably have in your kitchen. Furthermore homemade facial masks are totally natural and cost effective compared to commercially made products.

Here are some really quick, simple and effective facial mask recipes to soothe, hydrate and calm dry and rough skin.

Avocado and Vitamin E Face Mask

for dry skin

You will need:

  • Flesh of half ripe Avocado
  • Contents of one Vitamin E capsule

Blend the avocado in a blender until smooth, and add the vitamin e oil. Mix well and apply to cleansed face. Wash thoroughly after 20 minutes and moisturize.

Coconut Milk and Pink Clay Face Mask

for dry skin

You will need:

  • Two tablespoons of coconut milk or heavy cream
  • One tablespoon of pink clay

Mix both ingredients in to a smooth paste and apply to cleansed skin. Leave for 15 to 20 minutes and wash thoroughly.

Follow with moisturize.

Aloe Vera Face Mask and Scrub

for dry skin

You will need:

  • One tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel
  • Half tablespoon of Almond oil
  • Half tablespoon of almond meal

Mix all three ingredients to form a smooth paste. Apply to cleansed skin and massage gently in circular motions to remove dead skin. Leave for 15 to 20 minutes and wash thoroughly.

Follow with moisturizer.

Honey and Cucumber Mask

for dry skin.

You will need:

  • Three tablespoons of grated cucumber
  • Half tablespoon of honey
  • Half tablespoon of Pink clay

Pass the grated cucumber through a sieve and collect the juice in a bowl. Mix the pink clay and honey in to the cucumber juice and mix well. Apply to cleansed skin and leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and follow with moisturizer.

Some Helpful Tips to Enhance The Benefits of Your Face Mask:

*Always apply facial mask to freshly cleansed and preferably exfoliated skin.

*Make sure all facial mask is thoroughly removed before moisturizing.

*Try to relax during a facial mask treatment. Lying down and listening to calming music is a simple but effective to technique to induce relaxation.

*Never leave a facial mask for more than the recommended time.

*Always apply facial mask evenly. If a face mask is applied unevenly it can evaporate too quickly and may cause irritation.

* Do not use a face mask more than once or twice a week.

  5. I like diy facial mask and now using facial mask with oatmeal, egg and apple. The recipe is very easy and effective. Ingredients: Apple, Egg Yolk, Oatmeal. Blend these 3 ingredients well. Spread the mixture all over your face. Let the mixture stay for about 20-30 minutes. Rinse it off with pure water. That’s all. You can try this recipe.
