Learning how to make homemade dry dog food can be a little intimidating at first. But, trust me, you will get the hang out it and in the long run you are doing whats best for you friend! Here is the recipe and instructions!

Your going to need:

  • Four cups of whole wheat flour
  • Three cups of white flour
  • One cup of wheat germ
  • Two cups of ground beef
  • One Teaspoon of yeast
  • Two Teaspoon of garlic powder
  • Two Cups of powdered milk
  • Four Eggs

Alright lets start by taking the yeast and dissolving it in one cup of water. Go ahead and mix the ingredients together after the yeast is fully dissolved. Keep kneading the mixture until there is a thick paste. You may need to add a little extra water.

After you make the paste let it sit for about 30 minutes. This will give the yeast some time to rise.

Flour a surface and roll the dough out. Make sure the dough is not super thick. Now you can cut the dough into whatever size and shape that you think your dog will like.Put the pieces onto a baking sheet and put into the oven. You are going to want to bake at 350 degrees for probably 45 minutes. Make sure the food is cool then feel free to serve! Go ahead and store for future feedings!

  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup oatmeal
  • 1  1/4 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup white flour
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 cup milk

Preheat over to 400 degrees. Combine flour, oatmeal, and baking powder. Then, combine milk, peanut butter, and honey in a separate bowl and mix well. Next, you will want to stir peanut butter mixture into flour/oatmeal mixture. Knead dough and roll-out on floured surface to about a quarter inch thick. Cut out treats using a cookie cutter of your choice. Place aluminum foil over your cookie sheet. Pop them in the oven and bake for about 15 min!

    Garlic should NOT be fed to pets with a pre-existing anemic condition or to those scheduled for surgery. Also, young puppies before six to eight weeks of age should NOT be given garlic because they do not begin reproducing new blood cells until after 6-8 weeks.
