Benefits of Lemon Juice – Homemade Skin Care
Discover the health benefits of lemon juice! Lemons are small, oval-shaped, yellow fruit grown on the Citrus Limonium, evergreen, tree. Lemon juice contains citric acid giving it a very sour, tart, taste. Most people do not drink lemon juice by itself. It can cause damage to tooth enamel, when used at full strength. Instead, dilute or sprinkle it on as an added flavoring in foods or drinks. It’s delicious over salmon or salads. Use it in water or tea. Just a very small amount is needed.
Lemon juice contains the benefits of vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C and E. The vitamin C content is very high. One-quarter cup of lemon juice supplies over 33% of the recommended daily value of vitamin C. One cup of raw lemon juice contains about 60 calories, 2 milligrams of sodium, 6 grams of sugars, 1gram of protein and 1gram of dietary fiber. The sugars in lemon are unrefined, natural and easily absorbed into the body. Lemons contain minerals including: calcium, copper, magnesium, potassium, zinc and other nutrients. Lemon juice has antibacterial and antioxidants benefits! It is healthy for the body, inside and out!

This homemade facial helps fade dark spots, discolorations, fine lines and wrinkles. It exfoliates dead skin cells and provides a natural glow to skin.
CAUTION! Lemon juice is mildly acidic. This antioxidant juice may sting, temporarily, when applied to skin. Dilute the juice with water then gently apply to skin with a soft cotton ball. If you have citrus allergies do not use lemon juice topically or internally. Consult your health care provider, if needed.
