  1. This will probably sound crazy but it works like a charm. When red wine is spilled on the carpet just pour white wine on top!!! Make sure to pour it completely over the red wine stain then blot thoroughly (no rubbing), I like to use a disposable diaper as the absorbency is fabulous, but a sanitary napkin/pad (Kotex) works in a pinch.

    1. Thank you for sharing your tip on using white wine to remove red wine stains from carpets. It may sound unusual, but sometimes unconventional methods can work wonders. Using a highly absorbent material like a disposable diaper or sanitary napkin is a great idea to blot the stain and minimize any spreading or rubbing. I will definitely give this a try next time I encounter a red wine stain on my carpet!

  2. Wine Stain – I had recently bought the Oxy carpet cleaner specifically labelled for dogs/cats odors. I dropped some red wine on my carpet and only noticed the next day. All I did was spray the areas with the Oxy cleaner and walked away to do other chores. When I got back…the stain was completely gone and all I did after was vacuum the carpet. Amazing…no scrubbing, blotting, etc.

    1. That’s fantastic to hear that the Oxy carpet cleaner designed for pet odors worked so well on your red wine stain. It’s great when a simple solution like spraying the cleaner and allowing it to sit can effortlessly remove tough stains without the need for scrubbing or blotting. Vacuuming the carpet afterward ensures a thorough clean. I’ll keep this product in mind for any future wine mishaps on my carpets.
