Homemade Dandruff Cure
Dandruff is the most common problem affecting the scalp, but this doesn’t make it any less frustrating, as anyone who has suffered from it will no doubt agree.
There are many anti-dandruff shampoos on the market today that can get rid of dandruff, however the large number of strong and toxic chemicals contained in them can often do more harm than good, especially if you have a sensitive scalp or are allergic to any of the ingredients. Things like Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Formaldehyde, strong degreasers and disinfectants respectively, are regularly added to most shampoos on the market.
You should try to buy a natural shampoo which will nourish, moisturize and condition your scalp, and then add natural oils like Lavender or Rosemary to the shampoo to give it an extra boost. Shampoos which contain tea tree oil can be effective at treating dandruff, particularly if the dandruff is accompanied by itching and irritation.
Here I’m going to show you a simple homemade dandruff cure that you can try yourself – not only is it 100% natural, but you’ll also save some money too! 🙂
Fenugreek Seeds Homemade Dandruff Cure
Fenugreek seeds can be used as a simple homemade dandruff cure. Fenugreek (also known as Methi) is very popular in Indian cooking and the seeds can be purchased from most supermarkets and health stores these days. A 100 gram bag should cost you no more than $1.
Take 2 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds and soak overnight in water
In the morning grind the soft seeds into a fine paste
Apply this paste all over scalp and leave for half an hour
Rinse off thoroughly with soap nut solution
A teaspoon of lime juice on the last rinse will work wonders
Brushing your hair daily will help to disperse the dandruff and stimulate the circulation to your scalp. Regular massaging of the scalp before or after brushing can also stimulate the circulation and help to remove any flakiness caused by the dandruff.
