How to Make a Cucumber Facial for Oily Skin

Be Shine-Free!

Struggling with oily, shiny skin? Those of us who suffer from an oil-laden T-zone would often wish that the problem would vanish overnight and be replaced with a healthy, radiant complexion. Skin that is oily attracts more dust and dirt to the skin surface, and we all know that excessive oil and dirt build-up can clog pores. As a result, acne breakouts can occur and larger skin pores develop, giving skin a rough appearance! Needless to day, oily skin isn’t pretty at all!

Oily skin needs special cleansing to prevent the pores from being clogged. Beauty experts tell us to avoid harsh products that strip skin of oil and encourage flakiness, and leave your skin feeling taut and dehydrated. These products cause the upper layers of the skin to shrink and this restricts oil flow through the pores leading to blockages and breakouts!

To clean oily skin, the easiest daily remedy is to wash your face regularly, but only about two or three times a day. Why? Because too much washing will stimulate skin to produce more oil! There are many products in the market today that target oily skin, but why buy when you can make one in the comfort of your own home? Try the refreshing and nourishing powers of cucumber! Most of us know it’s great for reducing puffiness around the eyes, but it is also great for oily skin!

Cooling Cucumber for Oily Skin

Cucumber is one of our favorite beauty remedies for the skin. With its hydrating, nourishing and astringent properties, cucumbers help restore the skin’s protective and natural acid mantle. Eating cucumber is healthy too, as it is rich in silica, a mineral that strengthens connective tissues like tendons, muscles, cartilage, bones, and ligaments. It is also good for hair growth, complexion, skin elasticity, and fingernails! But some of the best uses for cucumber is for the face. It can:

  • Reduce the appearance of dark circles
  • Treat puffiness of the eyes
  • Help reduce wrinkles
  • Improve complexion
  • Treat a sunburn
  • Tighten open pores

Cucumber skin is rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, E, magnesium, and potassium. These vitamins, along with cucumber’s cleansing property, help make your skin soft and supple. With so many useful ingredients in cucumber, it can actually work well with all skin types, from oily to mature skin. We love how it can help minimize the effects of oily skin, and the wonderful refreshing smell it can give to a homemade beauty recipe. 1. can i get mint leave in the market pls?and what is the common name?does it have fruits?dont seems to know it.thanks

    1. Yes, you can typically find mint leaves in the market. The common name for mint is simply “mint.” It is an herb that does not produce fruits. Hope this helps!

    1. Mint is an herb, not a fruit. You should be able to find mint leaves in the herb section of the market. Look for the label “mint” or ask a store associate for assistance.

  2. Which foundation and concealer should i used for my face which is oily…while am using cucumber face scrub and cream..?
Is it conducive if i apply that make up after using the cucumber moistorizer cream?
    please help.Thankyou

    1. When it comes to foundation and concealer for oily skin, it’s best to choose products that are oil-free and matte. Look for foundations and concealers specifically designed for oily skin. As for applying makeup after using the cucumber moisturizer cream, it should be fine as long as you allow the moisturizer to fully absorb into your skin before applying makeup.
