Lemongrass Orange Carpet Freshener
Refresh the carpets in your home with this homemade carpet freshener. The baking soda will neutralize odors and the rest will leave a light citrusy fresh scent.
Lemongrass Orange Carpet Freshener
Ingredients:
- 2 cups baking soda
- 1/2 cup dried grated orange peel (or lemon) (put the dried peels into a blender to make it into a powder, small dried peels are fine as well and can be easily vacuumed. I find the powdered versions works better on shag/long threaded rugs whereas the grated peels works best on short pile carpets.)
- 30 drops of lemongrass essential oil (optional) (the citrus peels work fine on their own)
Directions:
In a glass bowl add the baking soda and dried grated orange peels, mix. Then add the lemongrass essential oil to the mix and stir in. Store in a container or glass jar. Don’t forget to label it.
To Use:
Sprinkle powdered mix onto carpet area. Leave for 20 minutes then vacuum.
