Remedies for Hay Fever

Today we will be looking at some natural remedies for hay fever.I know this problem all too well as I have suffered from hay fever most of my life. In the days gone by I used to try all sorts of over the counter cures but a lot of those are hit and miss in my opinion. Later on as the years past by I gradually began my journey into natural health treatments and hay fever was one of the symptoms that I wanted to find the best treatments for…which I did.

Funny how I never even thought of this all those years ago. It goes to show how brainwashed we can become when we look for our cures in tablet form instead of seeking out some simple home remedies that can work just as well, and in most cases…even better.

Well I know you are suffering from the same symptoms as I was and just to be thorough, here’s a list of hay fever symptoms before we get to the natural remedies for hay fever that have worked so well for myself over the years.

  • Itching
  • Runny nose
  • Sneezing
  • Watery eyes
  • Congestion
  • Fatigue
  • Itching throat
  • Sinus problems
  • Coughing
  • Postnasal drip

Okay, no doubt you already know about these symptoms so let’s get straight to the natural remedies for hay fever:

Honey:

This natural wonder food is not only the one food that doesn’t spoil. It can help desensitize you to pollen which is what our immune system reacts to when allergy season comes back into town. A month or so before the season of sneezing arrives, take a spoonful of honey each day. Listen Honey; it works.

Ginger:

Ginger is a great remedy for strengthening your immune system which in turn naturally fights the affects of hay fever allergies. When allergy season arrives make sure to incorporate some ginger into your diet.

Garlic:

Garlic is well known for clearing congestion and for fighting the symptoms of hay fever.

Eucalyptus Oil:

If you already have the symptoms of hay fever then I recommend mixing a few drops of eucalyptus oil into a basin of warm water and inhale the excess steam that rises from the mix. This is well known to severely lessen the affects of your condition.

Chamomile:

Have yourself a nice hot cup of Chamomile tea. You can also smear some Chamomile oil onto a tissue and inhale.

Prevention:

  • Periodically clean your carpets
  • Wash your hair before bed time
  • Apply petroleum jelly around your nostrils to help reduce the amount of pollen intake considerably
  • Cover nose & mouth when dusting
  • Prepare by incorporating the above natural remedies for hay fever BEFORE the season starts

So there you have it. The natural remedies for hay fever mentioned in this article work just fine. I know they work because I have used them to great affect over the years so make sure to use them.
