According to research in archeology, red wine has been used for medicinal purposes since 3150 B.C. In 450 B.C. Hippocrates, also known as “the father of modern medicine” prescribed red wine to cure a fever, to prevent infection of wounds, as a diuretic and also as a nutritional supplement.
